With the globally-accredited model of the Kyoto school, which has a proven track record of successfully sending graduates to the world’s leading universities, KIU Academy Niseko aims to expand students’ choices for future success in their academic and professional careers.

Our Values

BILINGUAL

The aim of our English-Japanese bilingual education is to develop students who understand both Western and Japanese cultures and are fluent in these two languages. We believe that having a well-established foundation in one’s mother tongue is crucial to second language acquisition and strive to provide an international learning environment where students do not have to forfeit their native language.

WESTERN

At KIU Academy, being Western means pursuing skills that retain value in this age of information and generative AI. We emphasize effective communication and critical thinking to train students to come up with creative solutions that produce better results for society.

CHRISTIAN

Our education informs students about Christian beliefs and morals and challenges students to evaluate their own worldviews so that they develop a well-informed sense of right and wrong. Students and families of all faiths are welcome. No one is pressured to convert to Christianity but all are expected to respect the Christian character of the school, as expressed in all aspects of school life.

The school establishment application is currently under government review, and plans are subject to change.
